RefreshFinasteride is used to treat men with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and male pattern hair loss, also called androgenetic alopecia. BPH is caused by an enlarged prostate. Men with BPH usually have difficulty urinating, a decreased flow of urination, hesitation at the beginning of urination, and a need to get up at night to urinate. Finasteride will make these symptoms less severe and reduce the chance that prostate surgery will be needed. It may be used alone or in combination with other medicines such as an alpha-blocker to treat BPH. For men with hair loss, finasteride will increase the number of scalp hairs but will not increase the amount of body hair.
Finasteride blocks the action of an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase. This enzyme changes testosterone to another hormone that causes the prostate to grow or hair loss in males. It will increase testosterone levels in the body, which decreases prostate size and increases hair growth on the scalp. The effect of finasteride on the prostate and scalp will only last as long as the medicine is taken. When it is stopped, the prostate begins to grow again and the hair will be lost.

In adult men, Proscar is used to decrease an enlarged prostate (also known as benign prostatic hyperplasia or BPH). It can be used alone or in combination with other medications to alleviate BPH symptoms and possibly avoid surgery. Proscar (Finasteride) may help with BPH symptoms by reducing the need to urinate, improving urine flow with less straining, reducing the sense that the bladder isn't empty, and reducing overnight urination.
This medication works by lowering the quantity of DHT, a natural body hormone that drives prostate growth. Proscar isn't approved for prostate cancer prevention. It may raise the risk of acquiring a very dangerous form of prostate cancer by a small amount.
Keep a list of everything you use (including prescription and non-prescription pharmaceuticals, as well as herbal products) and discuss it with your doctor and pharmacist. Without your doctor's permission, do not begin, stop, or modify the dosage of any medications. The findings of a blood test used to identify prostate cancer may be influenced by this medicine (prostatic-specific antigen or PSA levels).

Finasteride works by inhibiting the production of dihydrotestosterone (DHT), a hormone that contributes to BPH and prostate enlargement. Finasteride is a synthetic version of testosterone, a derivative of testosterone that is converted into its active form in the body. This testosterone derivative causes symptoms such as an enlarged prostate, difficulty urinating, and an increased risk of developing male pattern baldness.
Finasteride is not indicated in the treatment of male pattern baldness or prostate enlargement. In addition, Finasteride is not approved for the treatment of hair loss, and is not effective in the treatment of BPH.
Finasteride works by inhibiting the activity of a specific enzyme called 5-alpha reductase, which converts testosterone into dihydrotestosterone (DHT). Finasteride 1mg tablets are taken orally and Finasteride tablets are taken after dinner.
We offer treatment with a 2-in/2-3-4-2-3-4-4-4-4-4-2 3 months supply of finasteride 1mg tablets. The supply period isfrom 1-3 weeksafter the patient has finished taking the tablets. Finasteride 1mg tablets can be taken with or without food. The supply period is from the 1-3 weeks period when the tablets have been taken. The supply period can vary from1-3 weeksafter the patient has finished taking the tablets to the 2-3 weeks period when the tablets have been taken. The quantity and quality of the tablets can be changed to two tablets at a time, or even a 6 month supply can be made up of three 6 month old tablets. The supply period can also be used to adjust the dose as necessary, depending on the patient’s size and their response to treatment.
